Betty Lou Schlemm (1934 - )

Betty Lou Schlemm is a member of the American Water Color Society* and has been elected as a member of its Dolphin Fellowship*. She has served as a regional vice president, a past director and feels her greatest accomplishment was being awarded the American Water Color Society's Silver Medal.
Schlemm has served as secretary of the Allied Artists of America*, as vice president of the Boston Water Color Society and as President of the Rockport Art Association*. Who's Who in American Art, Who's Who of American Women, and Who's Who in the East are among publications where her name can be found, as well as several books from North Light Publications.
Schlemm has been featured throughout the years in many books and articles both in North Light and American Artist magazines, and in 1992 was awarded the American Artist's magazine's Teacher of the Year Award.
Schlemm has been teaching watercolor workshops in Rockport as well as teaching throughout the country and in Europe. She was an invited lecturer/demonstrator to the Victorian Artist's Society in Melburne, Australia. Her paintings are in many public and private collections including the Pentagon in Washington, D.C.
